Xolotl
Xolotl represents one of the most important psycho-spiritual sciences of ancient Mexico. Its name in Nahuatl alludes to the idea of “navel in motion” or “spark in motion,” and is associated with three sacred animals, each essential to understanding transcendence, community and regeneration:

HueyXolotl
(guajolote or turkey)
Called “the great Xolotl,” it is offered in ritual celebrations, especially during the winter solstice (“Christmas” in the West). It represents family unity and the power of the community.

Xolotl-Itscuintli
(the dog)
It guides human beings through nine rivers of transformation that we go through at death, according to Mexican lore. Its twisted legs and expanded eyes symbolize the ability to travel to the underworld and return with new vision.

Axolotl
(Unique amphibian)
It stands out for its ability to regenerate limbs and even parts of the brain and heart. As an endemic Mexican species, it embodies the art of reconstituting our being and being reborn.

Inspired by these symbolic images and the living tradition of ancient Mexico, we have chosen NINE thematic axes for our conference. The number nine is of great importance to those of us who study spiritual and transcendental aspects: it represents the “precious knowledge,” that which is acquired by being born, living and dying on planet Earth. We call this precious knowledge Ketzalkowatl, the precious serpent; Xolotl is its twin, the sunset star.
Just as human beings need nine months of gestation to arrive in the world, tradition states that we also take nine days to cross nine rivers after death to reach deep rest. In this way, our nine thematic axes will generate “nine rivers of knowledge and experiences,” providing new direction and unexpected movements, generating points of psychological reflection and artistic encounters, reverberating in the regeneration of transpersonal psychology.
EUROTAS 2025
XOLOTL: Innovations and Traditions in the Arts and Sciences of Being.
We are seeking proposals for presentations that align with the theories and methodologies of transpersonal psychology as well as well as proposals that offer the possibility of energizing and transforming actual practices supporting the spiral path of human evolution.
Today, we recognize that the contemporary western scientific worldview that we utilize to make meaning in our lives is missing a psycho-spiritual component and has left too many of us disconnected and detached from the natural world, from our own souls, and from a sense of awe, wonder, and enchantment that is essential to the human experience. We believe that the corrective or the remedy for this soul loss may be found in the creative power, technical beauty, and cosmic memory of ancient arts and crafts and cosmologies better aligned to our ensoulment. Our intention for this gathering is to move our hearts back into harmony and coherence with the heart of our planet in its evolutionary journey.
To that end, we are also calling for proposals from master craftsmen and women, traditional doctors, caretakers of biocultural heritage, educators, collectives with social impact, cultural educators, musicians and any individual or collective that, from its territory of action, adds inspiration to the innovations and traditions in the arts and sciences of being.
We will be soliciting proposal for the congress from among these potential co-creation formats:
-
Theoretical papers.
-
Community Dialogues.
-
Performances
-
Live art exhibitions.
-
Methodological laborathories
-
Immersion workshop and
-
Psycho-spiritual ceremonies.
We wish to encourage a congress in which we transcend: just presenting theoretical proposals and move towards living in common-unity; simply meeting standards and schedules and move towards creating meaningful experiences; a conventional and social event and move towards a cosmic-human experience that marks a new movement in the history of modern psychology and human encounters.
